Classroom Activity Ideas

• After finishing the questions, have students draw a simple three-panel comic strip showing the weather changing across the story (sunny and windy → stormy and rainy → hot and sunny again), labelling each panel with a weather word. This is a quick way to check comprehension visually for students who find writing full sentences challenging.

Differentiation

SUPPORT: Read the story aloud twice and allow students to underline the weather and season words as they listen before attempting the questions independently. Let students answer Part C with a short phrase rather than a full sentence if needed.
ON-LEVEL: Students read the story independently and complete all three parts in the suggested order.

Assessment

Collect the completed worksheet and mark it against the answer key. Part C is the most useful check of deeper understanding, since it requires students to go beyond matching words in the text to explaining an idea in their own words.

Teacher Tips
