Grade 2 Multiplying and Dividing by 3 and 4 Worksheet
About This Resource
A one-page fact-practice worksheet covering the 3 and 4 times tables and their matching division facts, finishing with two short word problems. Fits neatly onto a single sheet for quick daily practice once students have moved past the 2, 5, and 10 facts.
Overview
This worksheet targets the 3 and 4 times tables, which students usually tackle once the 2, 5, and 10 facts feel secure. Parts A and B give complete practice of each table from 1 to 10. Part C mixes division facts for both numbers so students keep practising the multiplication-division connection rather than treating division as a separate skill. Part D applies the facts to two short, realistic word problems set in everyday Southeast Asian classroom and market contexts. The whole worksheet fits on one page, making it easy to use as a warm-up, homework, or quick fact check.

Student Task
- Hand out as independent practice once the 3 and 4 times tables have been introduced through counting and array activities. Because it fits on one page, it also works well as a five-to-eight-minute warm-up at the start of a lesson later in the unit, or as homework. Encourage students to use a times table they already know well (like 2s) to help work out a harder one — for example, doubling the 2 times table to get the 4 times table.
Classroom Use
- Fact Family Cards: In pairs, students pick one multiplication fact from the worksheet (for example, 3 × 6 = 18) and write all four related facts on a card: 3 × 6 = 18, 6 × 3 = 18, 18 ÷ 3 = 6, and 18 ÷ 6 = 3. Pairs swap cards and check each other's fact families.
Differentiation
Support: Allow use of a printed 3 and 4 times table strip as a reference while students build recall, and let students draw quick tally groups next to any division question they find difficult.
On-Level: Students complete all four parts using recall and the known-fact strategies discussed in class.
Challenge: Ask students to complete the worksheet without looking at any reference chart, then write one original word problem using a 3 or 4 fact for a partner to solve.
Answer Key & Assessment
Mark Parts A-C against the answer key to see which specific facts still need practice. Part D shows whether students can apply the facts to a real situation rather than just recalling them in isolation — use it as a quick independent check or exit ticket.
Learning Objectives
- Students will be able to recall multiplication facts for 3 and 4 up to 10 × 10.
- Students will be able to recall the matching division facts for 3 and 4.
- Students will be able to use a known multiplication fact to work out a related, less familiar fact.
- Students will be able to solve one-step word problems involving multiplying or sharing by 3 or 4.
Teacher Tips
Point out the double-and-double-again pattern before students start: the 4 times table is just the 2 times table doubled. Students who are shaky on their 4s but solid on their 2s can use this shortcut instead of guessing.
