Unit 2 Vocabulary Worksheet — Unit 2 Vocabulary Worksheet
About This Resource
A four-part independent practice worksheet covering matching, fill-in-the-blank, school facilities, and a short personal writing task.
Overview
This worksheet gives students independent, written practice with the vocabulary introduced in Resource 1 (Vocabulary PowerPoint). It moves from receptive practice (matching words to definitions) to productive practice (completing sentences, describing school facilities, and writing original sentences about their own school), so students apply the vocabulary at increasing levels of independence within a single sitting.

Student Task
- Assign after presenting Resource 1 (Vocabulary PowerPoint), either as guided classwork or independent practice. Parts A and B work well as in-class practice; Parts C and D are suitable for homework, as noted in the Lesson Plan (Resource 11).
Classroom Use
- Turn Part D (Write About Your School) into a "guess the sentence" pair-share: students read their four sentences to a partner one word bank item at a time, and the partner must guess which sentence is coming next before hearing the rest.
Differentiation
Support: Allow students to complete Part A with a partner, and provide the Vocabulary Planning Report's word list as an open reference during Parts B and C.
On-Level: Complete all four parts independently within one class period.
Challenge: In Part D, require at least six original sentences instead of four, using at least two words from the Extension Vocabulary list.
Answer Key & Assessment
Score Parts A, B, and C against the answer key (up to 21 items total). Part D is open-ended; assess it for correct use of at least four target vocabulary words and complete-sentence grammar rather than a fixed right/wrong answer.
Learning Objectives
- Match at least 7 of 8 core equipment and schedule words to their correct definitions.
- Correctly complete at least 6 of 8 fill-in-the-blank sentences using word-bank vocabulary.
- Describe the purpose of at least 4 of 5 school facilities without a word bank.
- Write four original sentences about their own school using at least four target vocabulary words correctly.
Teacher Tips
Have students complete Part C (School Facilities) from memory first, then check their own work against the facility vocabulary presented in Resource 1 — this small self-test moment reveals which facility words need more review far more reliably than watching them copy from a list.
