Where Do Animals Live? Animal Homes

About This Resource

A free Grade 1 science worksheet pack on animal homes: nests, hives, burrows, dens, webs, ponds and shells, why animals need a home, and matching animals to where they live. Includes a timed lesson plan, worksheet, editable Word version and answer key.

Overview

Children find out that animals need homes to stay safe, keep warm or dry, and raise their babies. They learn the names of eight animal homes (nest, hive, burrow, den, web, pond, shell and cave), match each animal to its home, sort homes that are built by the animal and homes the animal finds, and explain why a home helps an animal.
