Who Is My Mom? Animal Babies and Their Parents

About This Resource

A free Grade 1 science worksheet pack on animal babies and their parents: baby animal names such as calf, puppy, kitten, lamb, chick, foal and tadpole, babies that look like their parents and babies that do not, and how parents care for their young. Includes a timed lesson plan, worksheet, editable Word version and answer key.

Overview

Children match baby animals to their parents and learn their special names: a calf, a puppy, a kitten, a lamb, a chick, a foal, a duckling and a joey. They discover that many babies look like small copies of their parents, but some, like tadpoles and caterpillars, look very different and change as they grow. They finish by explaining how animal parents care for their babies.
