Grade 2 Four Seasons Worksheet (with Answer Key)
About This Resource
A 2-page worksheet where students name the 4 seasons, match weather clues to the correct season, connect clothing to seasons, and draw their own favorite season — with a full answer key.
Overview
Students begin by labeling an icon grid of the 4 seasons, then read 4 weather clues and identify which season each one describes. Part C connects the topic to clothing vocabulary (“I wear a coat in ___”), reinforcing the seasons-and-clothes link from the PowerPoint. The worksheet closes with a Challenge task where students draw themselves in their favorite season and write one sentence about it, which also doubles as a quick differentiation and speaking prompt.

Student Task
- Use after the Vocabulary PowerPoint's season slides and alongside the Flashcards for extra review. Part A and B work well completed together; save the Challenge task for independent work or homework.
Classroom Use
- Four Corners: label each corner of the room with a season name, read a weather or clothing clue aloud, and have students walk to the corner they think matches.
Differentiation
Support: Keep the Word Bank visible for every part, not only Part A, and allow students to point to a season icon before writing the word.
On-Level: Students complete the worksheet as designed, moving from labeling to clue-matching independently.
Challenge: Ask early finishers to write one more sentence comparing their favorite season to a season they like less, using “because.”
Answer Key & Assessment
Collect Parts A-C as a written check of season vocabulary. Use the Challenge drawing and sentence as an informal speaking or writing check — can the student explain why they chose that season?
Learning Objectives
- Students will be able to name the 4 seasons from a picture.
- Students will be able to match a weather description to the correct season.
- Students will be able to connect a clothing item to the season it is worn in.
Teacher Tips
Before Part C, briefly hold up (or point to) a picture of a coat and a picture of shorts and ask students which season each belongs to — this quick warm-up makes the match-up section far easier.
