Grade 2 My Clothes Outerwear and Accessories Worksheet

About This Resource

A one-page worksheet where students label six real photographs of outerwear and accessories (jacket, hat, gloves, scarf, shoes, socks), solve six riddles, then reason about the correct order of putting on socks and shoes.

Overview

This is the accessories counterpart to the Tops and Bottoms Worksheet. Part A checks visual recognition using large real photographs. Part B checks recall without a picture, using descriptions of where and how each item is worn. The Challenge goes one step further than simple vocabulary — it asks students to reason about a real, logical sequence (socks before shoes), tying vocabulary directly to a genuine daily-routine fact rather than just a label.

Grade 2 40-50 Minutes Clothes

Student Task

  • Use after the My Clothes Vocabulary PowerPoint and, ideally, after the Tops and Bottoms Worksheet. The Challenge works well as a short discussion before students write — ask "What happens if you put your shoes on before your socks?" to get a laugh and cement the logic before the sentence-writing task.

Classroom Use

  • Act out getting dressed in the wrong order (shoes before socks) and ask the class what's wrong — this playful demonstration makes the Challenge's logic concrete before students write their own sentence.

Differentiation

SUPPORT: Complete Part A only, with the PowerPoint's recap slide visible for reference; complete the Challenge together as a class example.
ON-LEVEL: Completes Parts A and B independently, then the Challenge.
CHALLENGE: Extends the Challenge to a third item — "Then I put on my ____" (e.g. a jacket) — and explains why it comes last.

Answer Key & Assessment

Score Part A and Part B out of 12 (6 photos + 6 riddles). Assess the Challenge qualitatively for correct sequencing logic and sentence structure, not just the clothing words.

Learning Objectives

  • Students will be able to identify and write the name of an outerwear/accessory item from a real photograph.
  • Students will be able to identify an item from a description of where and how it is worn.
  • Students will be able to reason about and state the correct order of two related clothing items.

Teacher Tips

The Challenge is a good informal check of logical sequencing language ("first... then...") independent of the clothing vocabulary itself — if a student gets the clothing words right elsewhere but struggles here, the gap is likely the sequencing language, not the vocabulary.
