Sight Words: Read It, Find It, Write It

About This Resource

A free Grade 1 ESL worksheet pack for ten high-frequency sight words: the, and, see, can, said, you, look, here, play and my. Children find, sort, read and write the words in short sentences. Includes a timed lesson plan, worksheet, editable Word version and answer key.

Overview

Sight words are the small words that appear again and again in early reading books. Many cannot be sounded out easily, so children learn to recognize them at a glance. In this pack children find each word among look-alike words, sort the words by length, complete sentences, read picture sentences and write their own sentence with a sight word.
