Classroom Objects — Vocabulary Lesson PowerPoint
About This Resource
A 17-slide, teacher-led PowerPoint lesson that introduces all ten classroom object words one at a time, then reviews them with a grid, a chant, and a preview of the speaking activity to come.
Overview
This slide deck is the main whole-class teaching tool for the unit. After a title slide and a short warm-up, each of the ten target words gets its own slide pairing the picture with the sentence "It is a/an ___," plus a "Listen & Point" cue and a "Practice" speaking prompt for partner work. The deck closes with a full review grid of all ten words, an original chant, a "What Is This?" speaking preview, and a closing slide. Every slide uses the collection's original artwork so the visuals match every other resource in the unit.

Lesson Sequence
- Project the deck for whole-class instruction at the start of the unit.
- Move through the warm-up and each word slide, having students repeat the target sentence aloud.
- Use the "Practice" prompt on each word slide for a 30-second partner check-in.
- Finish with the review grid and chant as a whole-class wrap-up, then preview the speaking activity slide to set up Resource 4.
Classroom Activities
- Pause on the review grid slide and play "Vanishing Word": cover one icon at a time (with a sticky note on a printed copy, or by clicking away in Presenter view) and have students say which object is missing.
Teacher Tips
Do not rush through all ten word slides in a single sitting with very young learners — splitting the deck across two shorter sessions (five words each) keeps attention high and gives the words a chance to sink in before adding more.
Differentiation
Support: allow students to answer word slides with a single word ("Pencil!") before building up to the full sentence. Extension: ask fast finishers to add a second detail to their answer, such as the object's color ("It is a yellow pencil.").
Assessment
Watch and listen during the "Practice" prompts on each word slide — a student who can produce the full sentence unprompted by the end of the deck has met the core vocabulary objective for this lesson.
