Grade 3 Multiplication Facts Practice Worksheet

About This Resource

A two-page fact-fluency worksheet covering skip counting, solving 2s, 5s, and 10s facts, a true-or-false check, and a short extra challenge with facts beyond the 2, 5, and 10 times tables. Built for Grade 3 Math to build automatic recall alongside the conceptual work in the Arrays Worksheet.

Overview

Where the Arrays Worksheet focuses on the array concept itself, this worksheet is aimed squarely at building speed and accuracy with the facts students will use most — the 2, 5, and 10 times tables. It opens with skip-counting sequences, which reinforce the pattern behind each times table, before moving to a straightforward three-column solving grid. A true-or-false section asks students to judge given multiplication statements rather than only generate answers, which builds a different kind of number sense, and an Extra Challenge section stretches beyond the core facts for students who are ready.

Student Task

  • This worksheet is well suited to independent practice once students are comfortable with the array concept, either as classwork after Guided Practice or as homework. Skip Counting and Solve the Facts (Activities 1 and 2) work well as a timed warm-up at the start of a lesson to build fluency. True or False (Activity 3) can be done independently or read aloud as a whole-class activity with students voting. The Extra Challenge is intended for students who finish early or are ready for facts beyond the core 2, 5, and 10 times tables.

Classroom Use

  • Turn Activity 2 (Solve the Facts) into a quick relay: split the class into teams of three, and have each team member solve one column (2s, 5s, or 10s) before passing the paper along. First team to finish correctly wins the round. This builds speed without turning fact practice into a purely individual, silent task.

Differentiation

SUPPORT: Allow students to use a hundred square or number line for the skip-counting activity, and reduce Activity 2 to the 2s and 5s columns if the 10s table is not yet secure.
ON-LEVEL: Students complete Activities 1 through 3 as given, working through all three times tables.
CHALLENGE: Students complete the Extra Challenge section and then write two more of their own facts beyond the 2, 5, and 10 times tables, along with the answers, for a partner to solve.

Answer Key & Assessment

Mark the completed worksheet against the included answer key. The Solve the Facts and Extra Challenge sections are the most useful indicators of a student's current fact fluency for the Grading Rubric's Fact Fluency criterion.

Learning Objectives

  • Students will be able to count forward by 2s, 5s, and 10s.
  • Students will be able to recall multiplication facts for the 2, 5, and 10 times tables.
  • Students will be able to judge whether a given multiplication sentence is true or false.
  • Students will be able to solve multiplication facts beyond the 2, 5, and 10 times tables.

Teacher Tips

For the True or False section, ask students to correct any false statement rather than just marking it false — this turns a recognition task into a recall-and-produce task and catches students who are guessing rather than calculating.
