Learning Objectives

Recognize and name the letters of the alphabet and their common sounds.
Identify beginning sounds in simple words, such as /b/ in ball.
Blend letter sounds to read simple CVC words, such as cat, dog, and sun.
Segment words into individual sounds to help with spelling simple words.
Read and spell simple phonics words with increasing confidence and accuracy.

Lesson Procedure
