Grade 2 My Clothes Tops and Bottoms Worksheet
About This Resource
A one-page worksheet where students label six real photographs of everyday clothing (shirt, pants, shorts, skirt, dress, sweater), solve six garment riddles, then draw and label their own favorite top and bottom.
Overview
This worksheet checks whether students can recognize and produce the six "Tops & Bottoms" words from the My Clothes Vocabulary PowerPoint. Part A uses large real photographs so students identify garments the way they would in real life. Part B removes the visual support and asks students to identify the garment from a description of how it is worn (length, coverage, and warmth), checking true recall rather than picture memorization — each riddle was written and cross-checked to have exactly one correct answer among the six word-bank items.

Grade 2 My Clothes — Complete Topic Bundle — ฿150 one-timeStudent Task
- Use after the My Clothes Vocabulary PowerPoint. Students can work independently once the six words have been introduced. Review Part A and Part B together using the answer key, paying particular attention to Shorts vs. Pants (length) and Skirt vs. Dress (whether the top half of the body is covered) since those are the closest pairs in this set.
Classroom Use
- Read the six riddles aloud as a whole-class guessing game before students write anything down, so every student hears the vocabulary in context at least once before the independent writing task.
Differentiation
SUPPORT: Complete Part A only, with the PowerPoint's recap slide visible for reference.
ON-LEVEL: Completes Parts A and B independently, then the Challenge.
CHALLENGE: After finishing, students write one full sentence about their Challenge drawing (e.g. "This is my sweater. I wear it when it is cold.").
Answer Key & Assessment
Score Part A and Part B out of 12 (6 photos + 6 riddles). The Challenge is not scored — assess it only for whether the drawing shows a real top and a real bottom with correct labels.
Learning Objectives
- Students will be able to identify and write the name of a garment from a real photograph.
- Students will be able to identify a garment from a description of its coverage and use.
- Students will be able to label at least 2 self-chosen garments correctly.
Teacher Tips
Riddle 4 (Skirt) and Riddle 5 (Dress) are the pair most likely to be confused — both are "not split into two legs," so the key distinguishing detail is that a dress also covers the top of the body. If several students struggle here, revisit the Dress and Skirt slides from the PowerPoint side by side.
