Grade 2 45-55 Minutes Vocabulary Weather and Seasons

Lesson Sequence

Project the presentation for whole-class direct instruction. Pause on each weather or season slide for choral repetition, and use the riddle slides as a think-pair-share before revealing the answer in the speaker notes. The deck is designed to lead directly into the Weather Vocabulary Worksheet and Four Seasons Worksheet.

Classroom Activities

Weather and Season Charades: call out a vocabulary word and have students act it out with their bodies (shivering for cold, fanning themselves for hot, pretending to plant seeds for spring) before moving to the next slide.

Teacher Tips

Before revealing the answer on either riddle slide, have students vote with a thumbs up/down or write their guess on a mini whiteboard — committing to a guess first makes the reveal far more memorable than hearing the answer cold.

Differentiation
