One Cat, Two Cats: Plural Nouns with -s, -es and -ies

About This Resource

A free Grade 2 ESL grammar worksheet pack on plural nouns: adding -s, adding -es after s, x, ch and sh, changing y to -ies, and common irregular plurals such as children, feet and mice. Includes a timed lesson plan, worksheet, editable Word version and answer key.

Overview

Children learn that a noun changes when there is more than one. They add -s to most nouns (cat, cats), add -es to nouns ending in s, x, ch or sh (box, boxes), change y to -ies after a consonant (baby, babies), and meet five everyday irregular plurals (child, children; man, men; foot, feet; tooth, teeth; mouse, mice). They sort, choose, correct and write plurals in sentences.
