Alphabet Sounds PowerPoint Deck
About This Resource
A 33-slide whole-class lesson deck covering every letter of the alphabet, with a warm-up, one dedicated slide per letter, two review grids, and a closing A-Z chant.
Overview
This deck is the teacher-led counterpart to the flashcards, walking the class through the full alphabet in a structured lesson format: a title slide, an objectives slide, a warm-up, 26 individual letter slides (each with a "Let's Say It Together" sentence, a Listen & Point cue, and a Practice cue), two half-alphabet review grids (A-M and N-Z), a chant slide, and a closing slide. Because the deck covers all 26 letters, teachers are expected to spread it across many lessons rather than presenting it start-to-finish in a single sitting — see the Teacher's Guide for a suggested pacing plan.

Lesson Sequence
- Use the title, objectives, and warm-up slides once at the start of the unit.
- Each day or lesson, present only the 2-3 individual letter slides for that week's letters (per the Teacher's Guide's pacing plan) rather than all 26 at once.
- Return to the review grid slides periodically for cumulative practice.
- Use the chant slide as a recurring warm-up or closer throughout the whole unit.
Classroom Activities
- After presenting a letter slide, cover the picture with your hand and have students guess the picture from the sound alone before you reveal it — a quick listening check before moving to the next letter.
Teacher Tips
Resist the urge to click through all 26 letter slides in one class period — the deck is deliberately built as a multi-week resource, and pacing it out (per the Teacher's Guide) leads to far better retention than a single marathon session.
Learning Objectives
- Students will be able to recognize the uppercase and lowercase form of each letter.
- Students will be able to say each letter's name and primary sound.
- Students will be able to identify a picture that starts with a given letter's sound.
Differentiation
Support: slow down and repeat the "Let's Say It Together" sentence chorally 2-3 times per letter before moving on.
Extension: ask advanced students to generate one additional word that starts with the same letter, beyond the slide's example.
